Wat Chaiyamangkalaram

After checking into our hotel, the first thing we did was head out to some nearby attractions. And one of the biggest Thai temple, the Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram was really near. It houses the 3rd largest reclining Buddha and it is really quite impressive.

Overlooking

Going on this trip with Sharon means I am visiting a lot of places that I have not visited in a while. This was one of them and it was quite interesting for me trying to find some different angles to shoot. After all, these places are photographed quite a lot.

Objects of worship

Being there on “Cheng Beng” weekend means there were lots to see though being there at 4pm means the crowd wasn’t there too. After all, this place closes at 5pm. So, my advice to anyone out there is to go nearer to closing time to avoid the massive crowd.

In the picture above, you can see the reclining Buddha in the background which frankly speaking, is quite awesome.

Same but different

In the same Wat, you can see many smaller statues which were interesting. They all look kinda the same but different in their own subtle ways. So, if you haven’t been there, be sure to drop by this temple the next time you are there.
