Ramen Girl

Instead of spending my time squeezed like sardines watching an over-hyped movie over the weekend, I decided to watch some movies in the comfort of my own home. It was two chick-flicks, with the first being Ramen Girl, a movie not shown on local cinemas, and the second, a very old Bride Wars.

Ramen Girl was quite interesting. I was watching it with Sharon but I was editing photos at the same time so my level of concentration was not exactly at its highest. But it had some funny moments and Britanny Murphy played her role quite well. The best part of the show is probably the chef himself. The Japanese man played his role to perfection and provided a few laughs of his own.

The only weird part I found was the “magical” element at the start of the show. It just didn’t really fit. But it made me want to eat ramen. Hrmm…

Bride Wars

Two best friends, got engaged at the same time, and through a mistake, ended up having their weddings at the same time. Only problem is that they do not want a double wedding. So begins a game where they terrorised each other, back stabbed each other and one even found out the true face of her husband-to-be.

One is rich, the other is not-so-rich. Both the actresses, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson did well in their own role although Kate Hudson was probably the better of the two in carrying out her character.

While the movie seem to be all fluff, there was quite a bit of message in it. That in the most trying of times, people change. Whether its for the better or worse, well, no one can say for sure.

So, thats it for this week. Hopefully the cinemas will be less packed this week.
