I don’t travel that much and even less after I picked up photography. But I definitely love to travel. Those that follow me on Twitter will know that I will be travelling again soon, to Taipei in July. So I thought it was a good time to look back at some of my favourite travel shots.
The above is Bali, and this was taken near Pura Tanah Lot. Bali is a beautiful place, and everywhere you go, there is an opportunity for a picture. Pura Tanah Lot is even more amazing. Such a unique place. A definite must visit in Bali.

I go to Singapore a lot and it is almost like it is not travelling anymore. It is just like a second home now. But nevertheless, Singapore is a fine country, no pun intended. One of my favourite shots was taken at a relic temple in Chinatown. They had a ceremony going on and I decided to take some shots (totally allowed by the way). This old woman was just waiting for her turn but well, I like to take shots of old people. Their faces tell a thousand stories.

Vietnam is another country that I want to visit again. Again, it is a feast for the eyes so it was easy finding subjects to shoot. I stayed one night in Halong Bay on a junk that is quite an experience. Granted that there is not much to do in the middle of a lake but if you bring your camera, you won’t regret it.

Bangkok was one of the first places that I visited with Sharon. A couple trip. Taiwan will be another one. So, it was fun planning our own trip. We went on a day-long trip to the Tiger Sanctuary, Floating Market and also Bridge Over River Kwai. There I saw this colourful train going on a short trip across the bridge and well, this remains one of my favourite HDR shots of all time.

Last but not least, the Venetian in Macau was an absolute beauty. We only reached there when it was closed (as in the mall). But while I didn’t get to shop (not that I wanted to), it was a blessing in disguise as I got to take shots without people getting in the way.
So, thats it. The best of my travel shots… so far. Let’s hope I have more to add after I return.

Definitely such amazing photos! I like them all, especially the one with the train. Did you use Cokin filters for your shots here? Or just dodge and burn?
Train look like HDR to me. I admire ur photography skills.
Oooo… 1st and last shot definitely attracts. First for its dramatism and the last simply for its splendor. Nicely done.
@IHSAN No filters, mainly HDR. Bali, train and Halong Bay was all HDR.
@Shern Shiou Thanks :) And yep, train shot was HDR. Your website not up and running yet?
@Anthony Hoo Thanks :)
