Frogs and Lilies

On top of Bukit Bendera in Penang is a nice lil cozy place for good food, David Brown’s Restaurant. This restaurant is in a traditional English home and there is a big, nice garden as well. In this garden, you will see a lot of water lilies, and also a lot of frogs. Which is great, because I like them frogs.

David Brown's Scone

But what is good at David Brown? The best scones. Ever. Seriously. I haven’t tasted better. The scone alone is enough to make it worth the trip up there. And believe me, it is no fun trip up especially on a weekend. The tram is packed, hot, stuffy and slow. Very slow.

But I’ll go through that again for the scone.

Some kind of fruit custard

Then, there is the fruit-custard-thing which pales in comparison with the scone. Forget about this. Have the scone.

Taking a shade

When you are waiting for the food to arrive, walk around the pond. Try to find the frogs and see them swim, jump into the water and do all sort of froggy stuff.

Through Blades of Grass

If you have a camera, take pictures of the lilies or the frogs. Either one makes a perfect picture. Both of them make even greater pictures!

Where to Jump Next?

So, the next time you hesitate to go up Bukit Bendera, remember, there is great scones up there. Make the trip.

@Myhorng I actually really only liked the scones. Maybe because I haven’t tasted any better, my experience with scones is quite limited. But it wasn’t too hard. Just right. And thanks for the compliment :)
