I was there at the recently held History Alive! exhibition organised by Sri Cempaka International School with the support of History Channel. It was quite interesting to see various aspects of World War being brought to live.
There were games, videos, costumes, and even a torture chamber. Stuff like eating food without using your hands, dipping your hand into ice cold icy water for 20 seconds and others just to simulate some of the torture that prisoners of war had to go through.

I was there, of course, to demonstrate games as usual and I was given the task to demo Memoir 44. A simple 2-player war game that has various World War 2 scenarios. It was quite fun demonstrating the game.

The biggest attraction in terms of games was definitely Flames of War. These miniatures are well-made and when it is well-painted, the visual attraction is certainly there. Too bad I can’t paint.

And lots of people were interested in it, some for playing, some only for painting but everybody wanted a piece of Flames of War. Let’s hope the game picks up here. After all, their factory is right here in Malaysia which makes this one of the cheapest miniature game to pick up.

Granted, the game is not that easy to play as you need to learn some amount of rules before starting your first game but it is still relatively easy compared to others. As for me, I still can’t grasp the higher strategies, so I just measure the distance and bomb away.
As usual, enjoy the weekend folks.
