The Singapore Flyer. An attraction in my neighboring country that holds a special place in my heart. Not because it is quite impressive, after all, we do have the Eye of Malaysia. But because it was here that Sharon became my wife-to-be.

I still remember being there, and also how it nearly never happened. It was a random visit to Singapore and it was also a random visit to the Flyer. Of course, she thought it was random, I had it planned.
When we reached there, they told me that the Flyer had some technical problems and it is closed with no indication on when it will be opened again. I panicked a little but never mind, I kept my calm, after all, she can’t know that this ride is so crucial.
We went to a mall, walked around a bit and I made a call. They said it is opened once again.

We got a whole cabin to ourselves, well, it was a weekday, made it easier. And I continued snapping photos and looked around from the bird’s eye view. I knew the time was approaching as I wanted to propose when we were right at the top.
She does not suspect anything, and when I said that she made me feel on top of the world and I want to feel that for the rest of my life, she was slightly puzzled. And I guess it surprised her when I knelt down and said those words, “Will you marry me?”
Well, the rest, they say is history and 7-11 or rather 11th July 2008 will always be a special day for us.
