Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall

So, I was back from Taipei the week before but I got lazy to update my blog. Thought it was finally a good time to do so, and so I present you with a little sneak peek of what Taipei has to offer.

Not exactly my best shots as I was pretty much snapping away without much consideration to finding the best angle. And also I forgot to change my ISO setting resulting in ISO1000 on a hot sunny day. :(

The Ceremonial Gateway

The Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, flanked by the National Theater and Concert Hall, is one of the many landmarks in Taipei. But one thing for sure, if you go to Taipei and did not visit this place, you haven’t been to Taipei.

A main gate, the Gate of Great Centrality and Perfect Uprightness (Chinese: ????) was placed at the west end on Chung Shan South Road, with a Gate of Great Loyalty (traditional Chinese: ???; simplified Chinese: ???) standing at the north side on Hsin Yi (Xinyi) Road and a Gate of Great Piety (traditional Chinese: ???; simplified Chinese: ???) standing at the south side on Ai Kuo (Aiguo) East Road. A Boulevard of Homage, bordered by manicured bushes, connected the main hall with the square.

The National Theater and Concert Hall

Before reaching the Memorial Hall, you will pass by two identical buildings that are flanking the boulevard. These two are the National Theater and Concert Hall and they are quite impressive. Too bad, on a hot sunny day like the day I was there, it can get really, really hot walking towards the Memorial Hall.

The only good thing about hot sunny weather? Nice blue skies. Well, that’s all for the Taipei sneak peek, until I edit more!
