House of Tang

Over the weekend, I got invited by a friend to House of Tang located at Bangsar One for a food shoot. Of course, other than shooting the food, I was also given the liberty to provide a review of the place.

Located in Bangsar One, House of Tang is by no means cheap. It is not very expensive but you would spend more than your usual for the kind of food it has on its menu. But if you are looking for home-cooked style food but need a good environment to impress someone, then House of Tang can be the perfect choice.

Fishes at House of Tang

The place is quite well designed and it has a few little neat touches that brings it out of the boring restaurant look. But of course, if you missed all these rather subtle touches, then it would look like any other high-class Chinese restaurant. For one, I love that little fish thing that they have. I didn’t see it at first so it took my friend to show me where it was. I thought it was a pretty cool bowl. Helps that it is clean too.

Random Lines

The clean design is also great for a photographer. So, the next time you visit them and they let you take pictures of the place, you can go bonkers in there. There are great use of lines so they make for some great abstract kinda shots. And there are tables with glass tops so you get to play around with reflections. It is pretty cool stuff.

Chinese Tea?

And if you are one of those who like to enjoy a good cup of tea, then you can go upstairs and sit at their special tea table and have some quality tea time as well. The set-up looks pretty much like what you would see at a Chinese tea house.

Enjoying Chinese Tea?

I decided to enjoy some Chinese tea as well while having some good food at House of Tang. Where are the food pictures you ask? That will come in a 2-part review, the first part to be posted tomorrow, about the dim sum at House of Tang.
